Self Portrait
Final Project
Clay Animal Project
Close-up Project
We had to do a close up project of an animal of our choice. I chose my dog Heidi and we had to use value and shading. The most difficult thing about this was getting the portions right in certain areas. I really didn't like doing this.
Value Practice #2
We had to draw shapes from our perspective. The difference this time was that I was facing all of the shapes and none of them were overlapping. We also got to use art pencils that are made for shading and drawing. I drew the shapes first and I made sure I had the perportions right. Then I started doing the shading of the shapes from my perspective. The most difficult thing about this was actually getting the shading smooth and making it right.
Value Practice #1
We had to draw sculptures from our perspective, which means that we had to draw what we could see. I found this to be really easy, especially the shading since I love doing shading. I would do this again and again because I love doing this kind of stuff.
Journal
I really enjoyed making our own journals and just the process in general was fun. First I had to find the fabric I wanted to use, which it was an old nursing shirt that I found. Then I had to put the base of the journal together by gluing the fabric to the mat boards. Then I had to make the end pages and glue them in. Finally I had to sew in three sets of signatures, which are five pages put together. The most difficult part was sewing in the pages to the back of the journal. Either way I really had fun doing this and I would LOVE to do it again.
